101 Banking Correspondent Centre launched in Tripura

Agartala: 101 Banking Correspondent (BC) centres of Tripura Gramin Bank by were virtually launched by Tripura Chief Minister (Dr) Manik Saha in Agartala at his residence.

The launch was initiated in the presence of Chairman Satyendra Singh Tripura Gramin Bank.

Dr. Saha in said that the inauguration of the new 101 Banking Correspondent centres will definitely strengthen the banking service in the rural parts.

The numbers are like 12 in West Tripura, 14 in Sepahijaa, 12 in Gomati, 16 in South Tripura, 9 in Dhalai, 16 in Khowai, 5 in Unakoti and 7 in North Tripura.

The Banking Correspondent centres will enable the people to access various 12-hour service (8 am to 8 pm) for payment.
These include payment through Adhaar Enabled Payment Services (AePS), deposits, balance enquiry, fund transfer, transaction in Self Help Groups (SHG), printing of passbook, account opening, enrollment in Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana ( PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) the Chief Minister said.

The Tripura Gramin Bank is presently operating 148 branches, 17 Ultra Small Branches and 1 Rural Self Employment Training Institute ( RSETI) in the state.

The 101 BCs were launched adding to existing 222 BCs including 33 Bank Sakhis.

The new facilities will enable the public to as banking services with more convenience. According to the CM, this will help the government to achieve financial inclusion.
