New Delhi: 16.03 lakh new employees were added under the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESI Scheme) in February 2023.

According to provisional payroll data released by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).

Additionally, around 11,000 new establishments registered under the scheme during the same month, ensuring social security cover to their employees. Notably, employees up to the age group of 25 years constituted the majority of new registrations, with 7.42 lakh employees belonging to this age group.

The data also revealed the addition of 3.12 lakh female workers and 49 transgender employees under the ESI Scheme in February 2023, indicating ESIC's commitment to extending benefits to every section of society. It's important to note that the payroll data is provisional, given that data generation is a continuous exercise.
