Assam: Assam Power Distribution Company Limited has recorded a huge jump over the revenue collection and billing efficiency in Assam, further strengthening the state’s power sector.
Recently under the guidance of State’s Power Minister Sri Bimal Borah, few prompt actions have been taken regarding the collection of electricity dues from the organizations/companies/households who didn’t pay their electricity bills for a long time will be deprived of the power connection.

For the FY21, for the month of January, the revenue collection amount was Rs. 382 crores, with 90% billing efficiency and 87.37 percent of collection efficiency. Whereas for the period between February to May, the revenue efficiency fell a bit and remained constant in the downfall.
A sudden rise of efficiency was seen for the month of June, where the revenue collection increased up to Rs. 501 Crore, with 98 percent efficiency and 93 percent billing efficiency.
Despite this decision, many of the organizations didn’t pay attention to it, hence power supply was detained from them as per the decision taken by Bimal Borah.

The sudden action taken by the power ministry led to the collection of electricity overdue from most of the majority of the places along with an increase in the collection of revenue amount.

Cooperation is requested further by the Power Minister of Assam to raise the power efficiency even more.
