Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh will implement a 4% hike in dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for the state government employees, pensioners, and family pensioners, officials announced earlier this week.

The decision aimed at benefiting 68,818 state government employees and 33,200 pensioners, would bring the total DA and DR to 50% from the previous 45%. The hike will be effective from January 1.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his delight in sharing the news via X (formerly Twitter) and highlighted the "commitment of the state government under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, towards the welfare of all citizens, especially those dedicated to delivering government service."

"Let us continue to work diligently for the all-round, inclusive growth of Arunachal Pradesh," he added in his post.

The expenditure for the Arunachal Pradesh state government is estimated to be Rs 124.20 crore annually.
