ASFFDC promotes film shooting locations of Assam in Mumbai

Guwahati: The Assam State Film (Finance and Development) Corporation Limited (ASFFDC) recently took part in FICCI Frames in Mumbai to promote shooting locations in the state.

ASFFDC officials told Business Northeast that the corporation’s participation in the event, which was held in Mumbai on May 3, placed a demand for the entire country to shoot in Assam.

The locations selected are Guwahati, Kaziranga National Park, Manas National Park, Kamakhya Temple, Religious Expedition, Majuli Island, Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, Umananda Island, Haflong Hill Station, Panimur Falls, Dima Hasao, Dibru Saikhowa National Park, Sivasagar, Silchar, Dibrugarh, Sualkuchi, Bongaigaon, Darrang, Digboi, Diphu, Chandubi Lake, Nalbari, Nabadwip Bajali and Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio.

Besides, it also promoted facilities or equipment available in Assam for shooting films.

Some of the key discussions at the meeting were to ensure a level playing field in entertainment broadcasting, building the future of the creator economy in India, Indian entertainment’s most bankable sector, the right revenue model for digital media, and how to fund, make and sell an Indian documentary, among others.

The main objective of the corporation is to preserve, exhibit, document and produce films in the various languages of Assam and to promote the Assamese film industry, financial assistance to entrepreneurs to build up new cinemas and provide subsidies for production, marketing and distribution of films.

FICCI Frames is a platform for the Media and Entertainment Industry over the last 22 years to brainstorm on the issues related to the sector, ideate solutions, share global best practices, showcase cutting-edge technologies and put up a global trade show of the sector.
