Guwahati: Assam Gunotsav to begin in three phases from January 18, 2023.

In an effort to ensure that education has better learning outcomes through the identification of learning gaps and the development of effective methods for corrective measures, a meeting on Gunotsav-2023, project of the Department of School Education, Government of Assam, was organised today at the Samagra Shiksha State Mission office.

The meeting was chaired by Ranoj Pegu, Education Minister, Govt. of Assam.

Ranoj Pegu highlighted the objectives of Gunotsav 2023 during the conference.

Beginning on January 18, Gunotsav 2023 will take place in three stages. On February 1, the second phase will start, and on February 15, the third phase. With up to 42,768,811 kids, the Gunotsav will encompass 88,525 schools in total.
Gunotsav's first phase will take place in the districts of Udalguri, South Salmara-Mancachar, Karimganj, Kamrup, Karbi Anglong, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Nagaon, and Sivasagar.

Gunotsav's second phase will take place in the districts of Baksa, Chirang, Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Golaghat, Hojai, Hailakandi, Jorhat, Kamrup (M), Sonitpur, Tinsukia, and West Karbi Anglong.

The third phase of Gunotsav will take place in the districts of Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Dima Hasao, Goalpara, Cachar, Nalbari, and Morigaon.

A budget of about Rs 28.5 crore has been set for Gunotsav 2023. The previous year, about 28 crores were spent out of a total of about 30 crores.

The online portal for assigning duties to teachers was also launched by Minister Ranoj Pegu during Gunotsav 2023 meeting.

Gunotsav is a two-day review procedure that includes both an internal and external evaluation in Gunotsav, 2023. There will be internal and external evaluations, and school evaluations will focus on things like extracurricular community involvement and infrastructure.

A total of 18,097 External Evaluators will be placed around the State for this reason.

Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Siswa Sarma, along with Ministers, MPs, MLAs, CEM, EMS, Chief Secretary, Directors General of Police, IAS, IPS, IFS, and other top State Government officials, would participate in this major event to inspire the students, teachers, and society at large.

This extensive month-long campaign will raise awareness among kids, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
