Assam's Pabitra Margherita takes charge as Minister of State in Ministry of Textiles

Guwahati: Pabitra Margherita of Assam took charge as Minister of State in the Ministry of Textiles, today. Margherita is a Rajya Sabha member, elected from Margherita legislative constituency in Assam.

Former Union Minister of Textiles Piyush Goyal presented a bouquet to Margherita in the presence of Union Minister of Textiles, Giriraj Singh.

Pabitra Margherita is an Indian politician who has been a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since March 2022. He represents Assam in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India's Parliament. 

Margherita has served as a spokesperson for the Assam BJP, prabhari of the social media cell, and zila prabhari of Kamrup (North) BJP.

He has also served as chairman of Jyoti Chitraban and member secretary of the state level advisory committee for students and youth welfare. Margherita is also an actor, with "Mon jai" being his biggest hit film. He is currently a member of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and serves as Political Secretary to the Chief Minister of Assam. Margherita has also served as Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Textiles.
