1. Seven years down the line, Audi has inaugurated its first dealership in Guwahati. What was the idea behind launching the first outlet here in the Northeast?

When we first thought of taking up the Audi Dealership, we were the first to open any luxury car dealership in the whole of North-East India. At that time, i.e. in 2013-14, when we were offered the Audi dealership, we had already done a market survey and had found that there are already around 100+ luxury cars here in NE, and we thought it was the right time to open the doors of luxury for the North Eastern market

2. Northeast India has tremendous growth potential and the aspirations of the people from the region are really high. How is your showroom being effective in reaching out to the customers?

As already mentioned, when we were offered the dealership, we had done a market survey and had found that there are already around 100+ luxury cars here in NE. So, of course, we knew that the potential was high, and also the buyers here have the money also.

During the initial years, we had salespersons dedicated to particular states who would visit the states and make leads and give test drives. Also, we would do events from time to time, which we are still doing. Also, we would organize service camps in the various places so that the customers from other states don’t have to travel such long distances. Gradually over the years, when the sales numbers increased, the traction from the customers increased too.

3. Lack of employment is a major hindrance to the development of a region. How is your outlet helping in the generation of employment in the Northeast region?

There are a lot of opportunities nowadays here in the NE too, that are generating employment. If I talk about the Green Valley Group, we have around 300+ employees and I am proud to say that all my employees are from the NE states. There are different kinds of jobs that arise in an automobile dealership or transportation business and we train our employees to the best of their abilities which helps them later in life. In our Audi business, we have around 50+ employees, all from NE.

The Green Valley Group for the past 40 years has been generating employment for the local people here.

4. What are the different models available at your showroom and what are the services provided? Where are the different accessories exported and manufactured from?

Currently, we have the Audi A4, Audi A6, and Audi A8 available in the sedan range and the Audi Q5, Q7, and Audi Q8 in the SUV range, and the Audi S5, RS5, and RS7 in the sports car range. Also, I am happy to share that we have the Audi E-Tron, the first luxury electric car in the North East with us.

About the services, we provide complete services for your cars. Right from financing your new car to insurance, we have every service to help the customers. For the after-sales also, we provide PMGR servicing for the cars, painting services, Paint protection, car polishing etc. Also, we do buy and sell second-hand cars through Audi Approved Plus.

All the accessories and products that we have with us are from Audi India and we do not import from any other source. All accessories are Audi branded.

5. Pandemic has hit almost all the sectors. How did your showroom sustain amid the pandemic?

2020-21 was a very difficult time for all of us, but I am happy to say that we managed pretty well. Audi India has been really supportive and they have helped us financially during this period. Also, I would like to mention that all my employees are like my family and they have stayed with me during this tough time.

6. Are there any new launches coming up? What are the future plans to further develop your showroom?

The Audi E-Tron has recently been launched in India and we have the first luxury electric car here in Guwahati. We are planning to do a grand launch of the E-Tron so that the people of NE can see what a great car the E-Tron is.

Also, the new Audi A8 is going to be launched soon.

As for future plans, we are planning to open up an Audi Approved Plus showroom in Guwahati which will be dedicated solely for the purpose of buying and selling second-hand cars.
