1. Brief us about the potential journey of Borthakur IAS Academy for the development of youth in the State's development interest.

 While traveling to different cities, I was always fascinated by the civil service coaching institutes. Thus, I devised the idea of establishing an IAS academy here in Guwahati. During that time the need of the hour was a proper civil service academy and due to lack of which the young aspirants had to go out of Assam which triggered the nonresident Assamese to the core.

The primary objective was to provide quality coaching to the youths in their hometown or at least in their own state.

On October 2nd, 2014, Borthakur’s IAS Academy was set up and we began to provide demo classes with just seven students on the ground floor of my own residence at Gandhibasti. Initially, we had to face a lot of hindrances, but with the support of my family and well-wishers, I stood back with my dream.  

With time and hard work, Borthakur’s IAS academy has reached the strata where we can proudly claim it as the best IAS & ACS Coaching Academy of the North East Region with 1700 plus achievers who are posted in various government sectors.

Recently, in APSC CCE 2018-20, 40 plus students have been selected into the premier services of the State. 

With three centers in Guwahati and two centers in Jorhat and Dibrugarh, we are planning to expand it further in the near future.

4. Could you explain to the BNE readers the challenges in the preparation for the civil service examination? And how is the course provided here helps the students with all your test & course material?

The journey of civil services is very strenuous, both mentally and physically, and needs absolute dedication and motivation. The major questions aspirants mostly come up with are- how to stay motivated for a long period of time or how to be focused constantly without being interrupted. Thus, to overcome the crisis we have a core team of counselors who counsel the students periodically, which is very helpful for the students to carry on with their respective preparation for their upcoming journey.

We mostly believe in providing a holistic approach to coaching, which is the best approach for gaining the trust of young minds. The faculties mostly try to make the classrooms, interactive enough to clear maximum doubts in each session possible.  They teach from scratch to the advanced level, carefully and very systematically.

5. In what way you can say you have been a part of the economic development of Assam?

The business fraternity of the state is all together countable for the state’s or even the nation’s economic development. I, as a social entrepreneur, would like to consider the broader aspect of providing services to society and generating employment and income for a large section of people. 8. What message would you like to give to the aspiring youth?

My advice to the YouTube generation is to “arise and awake”. The nation wants you and you have to dream and aspire and eventually work hard to achieve the unseen. This world is a battlefield and there is no shortcut to reaching your goals.
