Guwahati: The first Mega North East buyer-seller encounter hosted by Invest India at the Novotel in Guwahati was all business.

For the first time, Invest India and One District One Product (ODOP) hosted a Mega North East buyer-seller meet under DPIIT in collaboration with the Ministry of DoNER, the North East Handlooms and Handicraft Development Corporation (NEHHDC), and the North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Limited (NERAMAC).

Over 75+ vendors, dealers, farmers, aggregators, and 30+ buyers from the North Eastern area of India attended the buyer-seller meet, which featured an assortment of excellent items from each state in the region.
During the festival, all agricultural, horticultural, handloom, and handicraft products were on display. The buyer-seller meet included products such as kiwi, big cardamom, and Thai lemon, large cardamom, turmeric, ginger, dried turmeric, GI labelled queen pineapple, and Sikkim's huge cardamom.

The buyer-seller meet's goal was to link all sellers from the North East with diverse purchasers from outside the state.

Several more projects and Central Government programmes were announced during the occasion, which are available to agricultural entrepreneurs. However, it was discovered that many businesses are not typically aware of the existing government programmes and subsidies that may be used, according to Dr. Geetima Das Krishna, Northeast Head of Invest India. "We wanted entrepreneurs to take advantage of these government initiatives and incentives," the organization said to business-northeast.

This meeting created a new market link for the region's unique products. Several government leaders from the eight Northeastern states met to explore how to develop a sustainable and suitable business climate for ODOP goods in the Northeast.

Buyers showed a significant interest in the local goods of the Northeastern area. Invest India also announced the signing of a letter of intent (LoI) with the sellers valued INR 6 crore.

It also intends to hold a series of similar events in the NE area. The buyer-seller meeting was attended by a high-level Arunachal Pradesh delegation led by APIDFCL Chairman Wanglong Rajkumar and trade and commerce secretary Hage Tari.
