Guwahati: Oranges from Dambuk in Arunachal Pradesh have made their way to the Arab shoreline, with the opening of the Lulu Group's Hypermarkets in Dubai, UAE.

Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (APAMB) CEO Okit Palling, agriculture marketing director Tadu Game, and joint-director Karbom Riram were among the state government representatives present at the launch of the oranges at Lulu Hypermarket Flagship Stores. Bidol Tayeng, the agriculture production commissioner and secretary, also attended the launch event.

An event was held on Thursday in Dubai that was sponsored by the Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board in partnership with Lulu Group International, Dubai. The Lulu Hyper Market was represented by its regional director KP Thamban, senior buyer of imports Regi MM, and purchasing manager Santosh at the Lulu Group International.

The regional manager of Lulu Group praised the work of APAMB and APEDA and stated that this event is a landmark that will open the market for numerous more organic goods from the state. Also, he applauded the Board and Lulu Group for coordinating this import in such a short amount of time. He said that sales of state-produced goods at Lulu Stores would gradually rise, which will aid in the branding and marketing of agricultural and horticultural products from the state.

Speaking at the occasion, Tayeng praised the APAMB and Lulu for working together to effectively organise this programme to build a favourable impression of the business climate in the state and encourage more companies to enter the state.

Moreover, he stated that additional products from the state will eventually make their way into these markets, with organic oranges serving just as the state's lead product.

Palling claimed that Dambuk Organic Orange Producer Company Limited, established in accordance with the MOVCD-NER, produced these oranges. With the exception of logistical issues, he said that the state's agricultural and horticultural products, such as pumpkin, pineapple, ginger, turmeric, and huge cardamom, are of the highest quality. He also thanked the chief minister Pema Khandu and the minister of agriculture and horticulture Tage Taki for their unwavering support.

According to an official announcement, the product introduction was timed to fall on the lengthy vacation that begins today. According to reports, by the end of the day, the oranges had practically run out while other nations' supply was still on the shelves.

Also, the first shipment of 6MT oranges from Dambuk, known as the "Orange Bowl of Arunachal Pradesh," was flagged-off from Roing and is anticipated to arrive in Dubai by December 30.

Arunachal Chief Minister, Pema Khandu, praised the action and stated that the state government is making unrelenting efforts to make Arunachal Pradesh the "fruit bowl of India."

The Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North East Region is supporting the effort, which was initiated by the Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (APAMB) in association with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and Lulu Group International (MOVCD-NER).

Arunachal Chief Minister further tweeted, "How delighted & proud I am to see our oranges from Dambuk being sold to Dubai. Arunachal Pradesh is undoubtedly on the path to become India's fruit bowl with the help of the government and the ongoing efforts of our farmers. A very amazing achievement!
