G20 meet in Dibrugarh with focus on sustainable and bio-economy

Dibrugarh: The G20 Research and Innovation Initiative Gathering (RIIG) Conference will start from Friday in Dibrugarh on Thursday, Assam, with a focus on establishing a sustainable and circular bio-economy.

The two-day event will bring together representatives from G20 members, guest countries, and international groups to discuss the creation of a continuous and healthy bio-economy.

The conference will feature key players, including national authorities and specialists in charge of organizing, establishing new, and administering ongoing programs on the topic. Agricultural possibilities and challenges, industry decarbonization, and control of bioenergy and bioresources will be among the topics discussed.

The event will also discuss national and regional programs, country experiences, the regulatory environment, collaboration between the public and private sectors, and the role of research, development, and innovation in the development of new, resource-efficient, sustainable, and more circular bio-based technologies, products, and services.
The conference aims to encourage active participation from all important stakeholders, including the 3Ps (people, policies, and places), and pave the way for a comprehensive strategy to policymaking that will provide a conceptual foundation for integrating circular bio-economy models into various sectors.

The event is expected to yield important insights and strategies for building a more sustainable and circular bio-economy that can benefit economies and societies around the world.
