Guwahati: In relation to the dispute that arose on Friday over the verification of stores operated unlawfully at Lal Bazar Shopping Complex, where a bunch of hooligans caused a commotion by impeding the Gangtok Mayor Nell Bdr Chettri, Dy Mayor Tshering Palden, and the officiating team, the situation has been resolved today after the Lal Bazar Shopping Complex Shop Association decided to collaborate with the Gangtok Municipal Corporation (GMC).

Mayor Nell Bdr Chettri said, "Our objective is not to evict industrious shopkeepers, but to retain them, provided they produce their legitimate allocation orders (which were previously issued) together with acceptable documentation for operating business at Lal Bazar Shopping Complex, which is a public property. If they don't meet the GMC requirements to be given space in the public Lal Bazar Complex, they are free to operate their company at private properties.

According to media sources, deputy mayor Tshering Palden expressed her immense happiness with the public's overwhelmingly positive response on social media.
Despite having a space allocation letter, several rural farmers were struggling for space at the Lal Bazar Shopping Complex.  She added that previously innocent farmers couldn't sell due to fear but now they can sell their product  in the complex. They may now sincerely market their own goods as such, making it simpler for buyers to purchase them at competitive prices.

In this context, a number of farmers who were seated at a complex were delighted upon receiving a space for which they respectfully thanked State Government and GMC authorities, especially the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
