Guwahati: Narayan Rane, Union Minister for MSME, stated that the MSME Ministry is committed to achieving the goals of holistic development and self-reliance of MSMEs.
In his message on the occasion of International MSME Day, he stated that while recovering from the adverse conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent Ukraine war, the MSME sector not only digitised its business operations, but also reduced input costs and began a new tradition by domestically producing essential products, curtailing imports, and also began export of those products with the support of various government schemes.
He stated that during this time, MSMEs focused their online services on reaching a larger market, and as a result, they were able to overcome adversity.
MSMEs, according to Shri Rane, are the backbone of the Indian economy and global sustainable development. MSMEs contribute to the creation of job opportunities in local communities. To achieve these goals and encourage innovation, the United Nations observes "International MSME Day" on June 27 each year.
According to the Minister, this year's MSME Day will be held under the theme "Resilience and Rebuilding: MSMEs for Sustainable Development." World MSME Day serves as a reminder to governments to maintain a business environment in which small rural, cottage and traditional industries can thrive, he added.
Rane extended his best wishes to all MSMEs, which have become an essential part of every citizen's life.
