And both the lounges- Starbucks and The Tea Cove invariably have one name in common-Tata. While the Tea Cove belongs to Amalgamated Plantations Private Limited (a Tata Enterprise) and Starbucks also has a joint venture with Tata Global Beverages.
Interestingly, both of them are operating from the campus of Amalgamated Plantations Private Limited which has 25 gardens in Assam and Bengal.
For those complaining that Guwahati does not have many good tea lounges, this place will make you change your mind.
Amalgamated Plantations Private Limited, a tea major has launched their flagship tea lounge, "The Tea Cove" located on GS Road.
The Tea Cove is a chronicle of the varied nuances that teas has to offer. With their century long heritage and expertise in tea, they now wants to present a unique Tea experience for guests.
" We have both brews- hot and cold" Anindyo Choudhary a senior official of APPL told Business Northeast.
" We are going up the quality ladder" he said.
"Historically, our tea shop on GS Road has been a favourite with Guwahati. Tea connoiseurs from different parts of the city frequented the store to buy estate fresh teas along with estate fresh spices, honey, etc. Keeping the consumer demand in mind, we have given our store a make over complete with a lounge space" says a statement issued by APPL, a tea major.
The company says guests can now enjoy a cup of tea or shop their favorite ones in a quiet serene corner amidst the town high street in an one of its kind experience, we will be offering our guests an array of hot and cold teas brewed with handcrafted artisanal teas that are produced in small, limited batches.
It has put together a delectable food pairing menu to complement our tea offerings at its best.
"The lounge will also be offering an array of loose teas from our own estates and tea packs from our signature brands like Hathikuli, Teas From India and Majuli Mist Roasted" APPL says.
The company says it has been its endeavour to present to our customers the best value and quality when it comes to our products.
"At The Tea Cove, we will be committed to serve our guests with high standards of food and beverage service" it says.
