This was announced at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) held at the Taj Bengal Kolkata.

He is a noted businessman, accomplished writer, and a philanthropist and also a partner with UAP Advisors LLP in a joint venture with IFFCO.

Previously, Mehul Mohanka was the president of ICC.

Prabhu shares his vision for ICC, emphasizing his commitment to strengthening government relations, driving industrial development, and creating investment opportunities in key growth states like Assam. He said that fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors, removing barriers to innovation, will contribute to the economic growth of states like Assam.

Sarat Kumar Jain, the chairman of ICC Assam and Meghalaya State Council, is excited about the promise made by the newly appointed ICC president. This would lead to the growth of the northeastern states, and not just Assam.
By the start of 2024, "we are thinking to invite president Prabhu to Guwahati and discuss plans for the North East's overall development."

With a diverse educational background that includes a B.Sc. in Economics, Politics, and International Studies from the University of Warwick and an M.Sc. in Financial Management from IE Business School, Madrid, Prabhu brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role.

He has also been designated as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and is actively involved in the field of holistic human development as a trustee of Manav Sadhan Vikas Sanstha, an NGO with a focus on empowering individuals.

"As the newly appointed President of the ICC, I'm excited about the immense possibilities ahead," said Prabhu. "Assam has all the key ingredients, location, and resources to become the leading investment destination, supported by proactive government policies. I look forward to strengthening our partnership with the State Government of Assam."
Prabhu expressed his commitment to leveraging the organization's potential and adapting to the evolving economic landscape to drive the agenda for the industry.

Prabhu added, "I am certain that ICC will spread its wings further nationally and internationally and be a truly world-class chamber in the coming years."

ICC, founded in 1925, is the oldest chamber of commerce in the country and is headquartered in Kolkata. Over the years, ICC has played a pivotal role in shaping India's business landscape, facilitating and promoting the country's economic growth.
