In the home elevators sectors in North East a new entrant NIBAV has made its entry. Based out of Chennai, the company opened its first showroom in Guwahati at Chandmari.

Business Northeast spoke to Regional Sales Director, Nibav lifts Sayak Sengupta to know about the plans of the company in the North Eastern Region.

The excerpts of the interview are given below:-
BNE- Please tell us a little bit about NIBAV?
Sengupta- To tell you about NIBAV we are the only vacuum manufacturing elevator company in India. We are manufacturing world’s safest and smoothest vacuum elevator in India. We are not only selling it to India, we are transporting it worldwide, We have got more than 31 showrooms in India, more than 17 offices across the world. Also, we have more than 2000 employees in the entire company. This is a home elevator and not a commercial elevator. We want to reach out to as many people who are in need of a home elevator.

BNE- What is the market share of NIBAV in northeast?
Sengupta- See. We have just started in Northeast. The Elevator market is a huge market. We have not even scratched the surface of it. We have just launched over here. So today we are launching. Right now the market is entirely open for us. But yes, we have got few installations in northeast not only in Guwahati but also in other places like in Jorhat, Nagaon, Dibrugarh, Shillong. Overall yes, we have got some presence. But to tell you the market share that is not that much as now.

BNE- With the so much of infrastructure development what is the scope for elevator industry?
Sengupta- See, if you need a lift in your house there are two three things. One will be the hassle, one will be the construction cost. Third will be the maintenance and finally fourth will be the recurring thing. In our lift we don’t have any of that. It is stand-alone self-structured product. Wherever you have a requirement if you can give us a space of 3.5 diameter you can easily install it. So from an infrastructure development point of view, our lift can go upto G plus 3. Anyone who has a requirement for G plus 3 you will not have to deal with any kind of hassles In that way, it can bring an ease for the customers.

BNE- What is your current turn over?
Sengupta- I will not be able to share the turnover of the company. I can say a few things. Our vision is to become a billion dollar company by end of 2024. In the last one year, we have grown 5x times. From there you can understand what kind of turnover it will be. Yes, we are a growing multinational company.

BNE- What kind of growth figures you are looking at in northeast?
Sengupta- In Northeast, since the market is very huge and there is a lot of potential. Also, the customers have a need. If I am talking about an USD One billion, I am expecting around 10 percent of that. This USD One Billion is a worldwide figure.

BNE- What sets NIBAV apart from other elevator suppliers in terms of customer service and support?
Sengupta- As far as customer service and support we are not a company who are working through distributors. All these you see is a company on road. We have our service engineers on road which most of companies does not have. For northeast, we have got 4-5 service engineers. We have got our showroom over here. Our manufacturing centre is in Chennai. In any part if any service is required we have a TAT ( Transcription Turnaround Time) of 24 to 48 hours. Within that if anyone provides the service we can provide the service.

BNE- How does NIBAV prioritize safety and reliability in the elevators it supplies?
Sengupta- Our company and products are maintaining the three standards which are essential for a home elevator. We are actually maintaining European standards. We got the Machine Directive certification, the TUV Certification (TUV SUD Certified) and the CE certification. This tells you the reliability of the product. We also got award for the safest home elevators in the world in Dubai. Our product is the safest home elevator you can find anywhere. So, the product is safe, reliable and it aesthetically beautiful.

BNE- What measures does NIBAV take to ensure that its elevators are energy efficient and environmentally friendly?
Sengupta- Generally, elevators are using three phase electricity. But we call ourselves “ Green Elevator”.The reason is that we are using only single phase. We do not require any three phase electricity. Maintenance is very easy. There is no requirement of oiling and lubrication that need to be done that much. Lift is using electricity while going up. While coming down it is not using any kind of electricity. So, there is reduction of consumption of power by 50 percent with a single phase. Thus, this is the most economical and environment friendly elevator available in this world.

BNE- Can you describe any recent projects or installations that NIBAV has been involved in?
Sengupta- We have got multiple Business to Business (B2B) projects . We have got tie ups with many builders. We have got villa projects, community projects. We have reached out to architects, designers and builders. Now, we are also reaching out to customers. If anyone is having a requirement, they can reach out to us.

BNE- What are NIBAV's plans for expansion and growth in the future?
Sengupta- I told you that in the last 5 years we have grown only 5X. We have plan to grow 10X by end of this year. Our vision is to become number one home elevator company in the world. We want to become a billion dollar company by 2024. So, we are expanding very fast. We have set up our show room in less than six months in Guwahati. We are expanding in every part of east and northeast. Wherever there is a requirement people are reaching out to us. We have plans to explore the options in other plans of northeast like Shillong, etc after doing a complete market study.

BNE- What advice would you give to companies looking to partner with NIBAV for their elevator needs?
Sengupta- My suggestion to everybody be it a partner, be it a customer, that elevator is something that is transporting lives from one floor to the other. So, please take a decision very wisely keeping in mind all the safety parameters. Never compromise on the safety. People generally look into the price. Yes, Price factor is always there. But if you need a product which would be transporting lives of your loved ones never compromise on the safety. We are the safest home elevators in the world. We assure the guarantee of safety and aesthetics. If someone is looking at these parameters than you are most welcome to try our products.
