The project's estimated cost is Rs.740.20 crore, and it is scheduled to be completed in October 2025.

"The capacity expansion would improve the Digboi Refinery's profitability," the statement said.

IOCL has also taken steps to increase the existing Duliajan-Dibboi crude pipeline capacity with Oil India Limited (OIL) from 0.65 MMTPA to 1.0 MMTPA in order to meet the crude requirement for the Digboi Refinery's increased capacity.

Previously, Hardeep Puri, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, stated that the capacity expansion of IOCL's Guwahati Refinery from 1.0 MMTPA to 1.2 MMPTA is currently underway and is expected to be completed by October 2023.
