IT minister asked WhatsApp to withdraw its privacy policy of 2021

The Ministry, in its communication, has drawn attention of WhatsApp  as to how its new privacy policy is crossing their limit  of several provisions of the existing Indian laws and rules.

On May 18, the Ministry of Electronics and IT sent a letter to WhatsApp warning that necessary steps in accordance with law will be taken if a satisfactory response was not received within seven days.

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology asking the  ” WhatsApp”  popular social media company to withdraw its current  privacy policy update which harms rights and interest of Indian citizen .As in today’s world many depend on WhatsApp to communicate in everyday life, according to the sources.

The ministry has taken a strong action  on the matter, of new privacy policy and made it very clear  that it is not just pushing into  problematic but also “irresponsible” for the messaging platform to leverage its position to impose “unfair” terms and conditions on Indian users.
