IT, Pharma & FMCG lifts market stocks; BSE MidCap outperforms SmallCap

New Delhi: The Sensex today closed at 55, 792.27 which is up by 209.69 points and 0.38 percent, while the Nifty ended at 16,614.60 which is up by 51.55 points or 0.31%.

The top gainers on the track were IT, Pharma, and FMCG. This Tuesday, August 16, the Indian indices records the highest closing and was led by IT Stocks.

Traders will be able to achieve higher targets since the growth recorded is positive.

On a 30-share trade Sensex, Tech Mahindra, Nestle India, HU, and 15 other stocks were recorded with gains.

In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap index outperformed its small-cap and large-cap peers and advanced by 0.7 percent.  However, the BSE SmallCap index was up by 0.3 percent.
