In an exclusive interview with *Business Northeast, Sanjay Kishan, the Minister of Welfare of Tea Tribes and Minister of Labour & Employment, shared key insights on the Union Budget 2024-2025.
Minister Kishan highlighted the significance of the budget for farmers, MSMEs, laborers, and particularly the tea tribe communities. "The Union Budget 2024-2025 emphasizes crucial support for these groups," he said. "A total of 1,000 crore Rs has been allocated for tea tribe development across India, with 700 crore Rs specifically earmarked for Assam. This funding will drive advancements in education, healthcare, and women's welfare, directly benefiting tea tribe children and their families."
Mr. Kishan also addressed the issue of laborers who were previously excluded from the E-Shram registration scheme. "Approximately 6 lakh laborers who were left out of the E-Shram registration will now be included and will receive the benefits they are entitled to. The government will ensure that these registrations are thoroughly verified," he assured.
