Guwahati: Chocolates now from the famed Temi tea estate in Sikkim.

Shri B.S. Panth, Minister for Commerce and Industries, today inaugurated two types of chocolates: milk chocolate and dark chocolate with fruits and nuts, under the brand 'Temi Platter' in his official chamber in Tashiling, Secretariat, Gangtok.

The Temi Tea estate was established in 1969 covering an area of 177 hectares (440 acres). The Temi Tea Garden at Temi was constructed by the Government of Sikkim in 1969 and is located in South Sikkim in the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim. It is Sikkim's lone tea garden and is regarded as one of the greatest in India and the world, which produces high-quality tea.

Shri B.S. Panth praised the move to offer local chocolate as a solid strategic choice, noting that the fondness for sweet confection is growing and that this local drive would allow for expanding the target market to satisfy the required needs. He further stated that such an approach would contribute to increased income and jobs in the state.

The chocolate mix has distinct and delicious cocoa and milk flavours. Along with them, dark chocolate with a fruit and nut flavour is available in higher quality, and both chocolate kinds are reasonably priced.

The launching ceremony was also attended by M. Ravikumar, Managing Director of Temi Tea Estate, Shri Tashi Tshering Bhutia, Chairman of Temi Tea Estate, and other authorities.
