Itanagar: Adding to the luxury destinations in Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday inaugurated the Vivanta Tawang, a luxury hotel in the frontier state’s tourism hotspot that will offer a plethora of world-class services to visitors.

The Chief Minister also posted a link that will enable people to make reservations at the hotel from December 26 onwards.

In another tweet, Khandu encouraged people to visit Tawang, the most sought-after tourist destination in the state that has quite a few of those. “Tawang, a historic and picturesque town, is renowned for its stunning landscapes and its spiritual heritage. Not only was His Holiness 6th Dalai Lama Tsangyang Gyatso born here, Tawang also has one of Asia’s oldest monasteries founded in 1680”, Khandu wrote for his 271K+ followers on X. “[Tawang is] truly worth a visit”, added Khandu.

According to reports, the new 5-star facility will have 80 well-appointed rooms and suites offering mountain and valley views. Releasing a statement, the Vivanta group says that it has drawn inspiration from the local materials and the unique design styles that define Tawang for this new hotel.

Located some 30 km from the India-China border, Tawang boasts many scenic tourist hotspots including Nuranang Falls, Namdapha National Park, Sela and Bumla passes, Tawang monastery, war memorial, Madhuri lake, and Pangateng Tso.

Fellow Arunachal Pradesh politician Kiren Rijiju, who is the Union Minister of Earth Sciences, said that Tawang can now easily host luxury tourists and hold top-level conclaves thanks to the “iconic” and “beautiful” Vivanta Hotel.
