Guwahati: Mahabahu Brahmaputra River Heritage Centre (MBRHC) expansion project to be completed by March 15. 2023.

Housing and Urban Affairs and Irrigation Minister Ashok Singhal today discussed the development and beautification works of the old bungalow premises of the Commissioner of Police at Panbazar as an expanded part of the Mahabahu Brahmaputra River Heritage Centre (MBRHC). The project will be finished by March 15, 2023.

Chairman of the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority, Narayan Deka, as well as other top authority officials, working architects, and contractors were present at the meeting. The Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority is carrying out the project at a budget of Rs 34 crore.

The initiative would link the MBRHC with the Commissioner of Police's old bungalow residence. The project also entails beautifying of the Brahmaputra riverbank region, development of the existing Padum Pokhuri neighbourhood, and creation of landscape courts and sidewalks across the entire area.

In today's discussion, Minister Singhal skillfully evaluated the status of each of these initiatives and suggested changes in a few areas. He gave the office holders instructions to do the remaining tasks quickly so that the project would be finished by March.
