Guwahati: Meghalaya would gain an additional Rs 25+ crore in income as a result of the reclassification of products in the Indian Made Foreign Liquor category (IMFL).

The Meghalaya cabinet authorised the reclassification of Indian Made Foreign Liquor today (IMFL). Due to rate changes in neighbouring states and in order to enhance income for the state, the administration has declassified some brands and raised rates on a handful of them.

The Cabinet has accepted NEEPCO's proposal for a remission of upfront costs equivalent to 1 lakh per MW (approx) against the assignment of the 50MW Wah Umiam Stage-I & 100MW Wah Umiam Stage-II Hydro Electric Projects in the Umiew River basin.

Sangma also presented the ISO accreditation to the East Khasi Hills District Milk Cooperative Union Ltd's local 'Na Ri' brand of milk and milk products.
