Guwahati: Momo Ghar, the first momo restaurant in Guwahati that has been serving momos for the past 30 years, recently celebrated its anniversary by organizing Guwahati Momo Day in collaboration with Uptown Co-living, a chain of premium hostels in Guwahati and Dibrugarh.

The event saw attendance of actor and director Kenny Deori Basumatary and others who shared their memories of the restaurant. Momo Eating Challenge, Mukbang was one of the major attractions of the celebration where more than 50 contestants participated.

The owner of Momo Ghar, Tapan Kumar Baruah, reminisced about the long journey of the restaurant and spoke about the challenges he had overcome to make the business sustainable in its initial years since its launch in 1991. The event was hosted by Sandeep Rajkhowa, Founder of Uptown, and co-founders Anangaraj Saikia and Sanjoy Chanda was also present.
