MoU signed between IBCCI and BAN for promotion of trade relations

Kohima: The Indo Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Business Association of Nagas (BAN) to co-operate, promote, facilitate and collaborate trade relations between the two organizations at Niathu Resort on April 6.

The MoU signed on the sidelines of the B20 Business Summit at Kohima will aim to facilitate exchange of information, expertise and technology in the area of agriculture, food processing, bamboo, tourism, textiles, Information Technology services, mineral and renewable energy.

The MoU will specifically aim to promote and increase bilateral trade and investment between Bangladesh and Nagaland. Along with, it has plans to provide necessary assistance and support to respective business communities to enhance trade and investment cooperation.

The Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on April 5 emphasized that Nagaland would derive several benefits from the B20 Conference as the State is strategically located. This will be helpful in developing Nagaland as a base state for boosting links with the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries in addition to Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Japan.
