MoU Signed To Enhance Seaplane Services, Ensures Seamless Connectivity: Indian Ministry

New Delhi: For the development of Sea Plane services in India, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, the Government of India, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation was signed on Tuesday. During the MoU signing ceremony held on Tuesday, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C) Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, and Hon’ble Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Hardeep Singh Puri were all present.


MoU signing will be proved as the key milestone for making the seaplanes project into reality soon. MoU signing will be a game-changer both for Indian Maritime and Civil Aviation sector as it enhances seamless connectivity across the nation proposing eco-friendly transportation through Seaplanes but with a boost to the tourism industry, stated by the Minister of State (I/C) Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterway, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya in the meeting.

Furthermore, Civil Aviation I/C stated that it will help in expediting the development of new water aerodromes and also operationalization of new seaplane routes in India, boosting Indian Tourism.


Non-Scheduled/Scheduled operation of seaplane services development within the territorial jurisdiction of India under the RCS-UDAN scheme of the government of India is predicted by this MoU signing.


Concerning MoU, a Co-ordination Committee with officials of the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), and Ministry of Tourism (MoT) shall be set up for the smooth operating of Seaplane services at various locations.
