Guwahati: N. F. Railway’s freight loading rises 17.7% in Feb’ 23

Northeast Frontier Railway has registered an increase of 17.7 per cent in freight loading in February compared to same period previous year.

NF railways has loaded 0.957 million tonnes (MT) during the month of February, 2023.

It has also loaded 10.807 MT from April, 2022 to February, 2023 of this financial year. This is an increase of 17.7 per cent as compared to the loading of 9.183 MT during the corresponding period of the previous year, a statement said.

During the month of February, 2023, coal loading increased by 4.8 per cent and loading of few other commodities also increased by a good margin in comparison to corresponding period of the previous year.

During the month, food grain loading increased by 42.3 per cent, container loading increased by 37.5 per cent, dolomite loading increased by 9.4 per cent.

During the current financial year from April, 2022 to February, 2023 coal loading increased by 332 per cent, dolomite loading increased by 10.1 per cent in comparison to corresponding period of the previous year.

Fertilizer loading increased by 11.6 per cent, POL loading increased by 12.1 per cent, container loading increased by 13.1 per cent and other commodities increased by 17 per cent.

The Alipurduar Division for the first time ever has generated goods revenue of more than Rs. 300 crores during the current financial year.

Moreover, Katihar, Lumding, Tinsukia and Rangiya divisions have also generated Rs. 322 crores, Rs. 278 crores, Rs. 230 crores & Rs. 216 crores respectively as goods revenue during the current financial year.
