NE Investors Roadshow in Mumbai focuses on entrepreneurship

Guwahati: The Ministry of Development of Northeast Region (DoNER) has organised the Northeast Investors Roadshow in Mumbai on May 28. The event has received interest with 200 business-to-government (B2G) meetings on a single day.

DoNER officials informed Business Northeast that a significant number of investors took part in the event. It also saw key policymakers and government officials from North East on the occasion.

Addressing the First Mumbai Investor Roadshow, DoNER Secretary Lok Ranjan said, “With the investor interest in the region, the North East region has achieved several industrial landmarks.”

“Efforts are being made to invest and develop the entrepreneurial spirit of the Northeast region,” he added.

The minister referred to the trilateral highway between Bangladesh and India and said it would enhance the prospects of integration. Logistics has been given due attention, and sectors such as food processing, IT, and solar energy have been capitalised upon, he added.

Many states in the North East region have set up empowered committees on industrial and investment development after the DoNER’s roundtables in the North East state capitals. There is considerable ease of doing business and industrial assistance provided by the central and state governments which should facilitate investors keen to start a business in the region.
