Guwahati: The North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd, (NEDFi) celebrated its 28th foundation day on its premises in Guwahati.
To commemorate this milestone, NEDFi invited more than 100 women beneficiaries of its micro-lending scheme from the northeastern region.
“NMLS is a special scheme which we started last year to provide small business loans to thousands of beneficiaries at the grassroots level for taking up income-generating activities. The loan is given to beneficiaries through Business Correspondents (BCs) who are closely working with NEDFi in various districts here. The scheme has been an instant success in the past one year,” said NEDFi CMD PVSLN Murty.
K Moses Chalai, secretary of the North East Council, inaugurated the NEDFi Foundation Day exhibition where products from NEDFi CSR initiatives, World Bank-funded APART projects and products from NEDFi’s funded start-ups were displayed.
