New Programme Launched to boost Agribusiness in the Northeastern States

Assam: Assam Agri-Business Growth Lab (AAGL) was launched under the aegis of the Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) by CIIE.CO IIMA to support the agricultural enterprises.

AAGL will be the first of its kind made for agribusiness development in Assam and the other Northeastern States. The program was launched at the Assam Agricultural University Khanapara Campus, Guwahati in the presence of eminent dignitaries, ecosystem players, agri-entrepreneurs, government stakeholders, and the media.
The main objective of AAGL is to support and handhold 100 agri-entrepreneurs within a span of four years, 25 each year, and 30% women-led enterprises from the state by providing them business and technical mentorship to develop the agriculture and allied sectors.


Moreover, the gaps like networking, high-value markets, capital, and knowledge, this program will help in further removal by providing the required assistance according to the departments.
AAGL will consider the sector-based approach to enable local businesses to form forward market linkages, leverage both external and internal business networks and strengthen value chain players for upcoming & curated services/products.
Furthermore, this program will also focus on the areas such as Agri-based warehousing, logistics, production, farm inputs, equipment, services, etc.

AAGL was inaugurated by state project director, Vinod Seshan, ARIAS society, while the meeting was addressed by Chief Executive Officer, Biotech Park, Guwahati
