Guwahati: A special committee meeting constituted by Cabinet was chaired by the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday for the second time to provide one lakh appointments in the state.

The cabinet meeting held had a detailed discussion regarding the recruitment of a large number of people in the coming days under the state government. Further discussions were made to consider the criteria such as educational qualifications concerning the recruitment process including application and selection procedure, rules, posts to complete the overall selection process more reasonably.

Moreover, the cabinet committee would like to direct those departments to submit the reports regard to employment status soon, who haven’t yet submitted their respective vacancy reports regarding the employment process.

The second cabinet meeting presided by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also constituted the Chief Secretary followed by most of the head departments of the state.
