PM Modi meets Walmart CEO to discuss investment opportunities in India

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a fruitful meeting with Doug McMillon, the CEO of retail giant Walmart, on Sunday.

Both of them discussed a range of topics, including investment opportunities in India. Following the meeting, both leaders expressed their satisfaction with the productive discussions.

In a tweet, Prime Minister Modi praised the meeting, stating that "the meeting with Mr. Doug McMillon, CEO of Walmart, was a fruitful one. We had insightful discussions on different subjects. Happy to see India emerge as an attractive destination for investment."

Doug McMillon, CEO of Walmart, also tweeted about the meeting, stating that "the visit with Prime Minister @narendramodi reinforces the shared value we bring working alongside India. Together, we'll continue to support the country's manufacturing growth and create opportunity."

India has been actively seeking foreign investment to support its manufacturing and economic growth. Walmart, one of the world's largest retail companies, has a significant presence in India through its acquisition of Flipkart in 2018.

The meeting between Prime Minister Modi and CEO McMillon is expected to further strengthen the business ties between India and Walmart.
