Registration begins for COHORT 4.0 in Assam Start Up- The Nest

Guwahati: Assam StartUp has begun accepting applications for COHORT 4.0.

According to an official at Assam Startup, aspiring entrepreneurs in the state may apply for the programme and take advantage of different perks given by the Assam government and IIM Calcutta Innovation Park.

Interested startups can apply for COHORT 4.0 at www.startup.assam.gov.in.

The Nest, an Assam startup, was launched on January 20, 2019.

"When it was inaugurated, everyone's gaze was drawn to it, some with eager expectation, others with a dash of fuss and scrutiny. The Nest has taken on the mantle of identifying and unleashing the potential of every prospective startup entrepreneur by first sensitising them to their own latent potential and then equipping them with solid business know-how.

"From there, Assam's ascent as a startup environment could only get larger and better," the official added.

So far, Assam Startup has fostered 179 firms, fostering them at various phases of development. 76 revenue-staged businesses have produced Rs. 42.6 crore in revenue (FY 20-21), while 54 incubated startups from the three COHORT batches have received a total of Rs. 30 crores in external finance.

Furthermore, the firms nurtured at Assam Startup have invented 20 patented items.

According to the official, startups fostered at Nest go through a rigorous incubation process in order to bring their idea/plan to market or accelerate the growth of their firm.

Capacity training programmes on numerous entrepreneurial themes to enhance the company and revenue model are part of the incubation phase. Mentorship to assist in business operational methods, Market exposure, and network connections to help speed growth, as well as work on investment preparedness Connect with possible investors and other grant and financing sources, as well as the Startup Alumni network.
