Revolving Funds were distributed to SHGs in Haflong

Haflong: The City Mission Management. Unit of Haflong Municipal Board organized a programme for ceremonial distribution of a revolving fund to self-help groups (SHGs) and PM Svanidhi Loan Mela at Lal Field here on Saturday,

The programme was attended by Haflong ST LAC, MLA Nandita Gorlosa along with North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council principal secretary LZ Nampui, Dima Hasao district deputy commissioner Nazreen Ahmed, mission coordinator Panchami Choudhury, NLUM, and other officials.

The programme was organised to provide and create. awareness among the women self-help groups and street vendors regarding the scheme of PM Svanidhi Loan Mela. Ceremonial distribution of cheques of the revolving fund were handed over to members of self-help groups and individual beneficiaries.

During her speech, MLA Nandita Gorlosa said the scheme intends to facilitate collateral-free working capital loans of upto Rs 10,000 at a subsidized rate of interest. The interest subsidy on timely or early repayment of the loan is at 7 percent and street vendors will be allowed to repay the loan in monthly installments within one year.

Deputy commissioner Nazreen Ahmed spoke about how this scheme would help the street vendors to cope with their losses due to the Cov id-19 pandemic.

She also advised the members of the self-help groups to make full use of this government facility and also suggested they compile their products in albums so that they can showcase them to the stakeholders.

After the distribution of cheques, MLA Nandita Gorlosar inaugurated the City Livelihood Centre near the office of the Haflong Municipal Board.
