Wokha, Nagaland: In 2020, the production of rubber sheets generated an income of approximately 37.85 crores.

On 16th August 2021, Natural Rubber Sheets were flagged off for dispatch by Land Resources Department, Wokha from Nagaland at Merapani, Wokha District with Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhandari, Tiameren Chang, NCS at the special guest.

After the flagging-off ceremony, 65 MT of rubber sheets took off for Aarush Reliable Holdings, Delhi.

Chang after that praised the effort made by the land resources, Wokha district for bringing recognition to Nagaland as a larger scale, high-quality natural rubber producing state.

This will further help to grow the state's economic empowerment and develop the rubber growers community, also benefitting the state's revenue if it sets up a streamlined mechanism to check and regulate the outflow of products.

The rubber growers community was supported by the Department of Land Resources Department, under Pradhan Mantri Sinchayee Yojana Watershed Component, IWMP and NABARD funded RIDF tranches, stated by Tepunol Yore, the District Project Officer of Wokha.

And a reverse migration of people from urban to rural areas was observed in the state due to engagement in rubber-based economic activities despite the road map created by the department with a futuristic vision plan for an increased production capacity outside the state.
