SBI to temporarily halt digital operations on March 23

New Delhi: The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced a temporary suspension of several digital services on March 23, 2024. In a notification posted on its website, the bank informed customers that services including Internet Banking, YONO Lite, YONO Business web & Mobile App, YONO, and UPI will be unavailable for a brief period due to scheduled maintenance activity.

The maintenance window is set between 01:10 Hrs IST and 02:10 Hrs IST on March 23, 2024. However, services of UPI Lite and ATM will remain operational during this time.

This interruption comes as SBI continues to see significant digital adoption, with its integrated digital and lifestyle platform YONO playing a pivotal role. In the third quarter of FY24, the bank reported that 59 percent of new savings accounts were opened through YONO, which boasts over 7.05 crore registered users.

Additionally, Q3 FY24 witnessed 33.1 lakh new YONO registrations and the disbursal of pre-approved personal loans worth Rs 8,428 crores through YONO. The bank describes its digital footprint as “robust”, with 125 million customers using internet banking and 133 million utilizing mobile banking services.
