Seed Sowing Activity Inaugurated At Rani

Assam: By the department of  Agriculture of Kamrup Districts, on Tuesday  6th July, Seeds of high-quality paddy Beena-11 were sown at Ganapati (Rani) on the Assam Meghalaya border.

On the occasion, MLA Narendra Narayan Kalita Inaugurated the seed sowing activity speaking of farmers' sufferings due to different natural calamities and wild elephants, he said that paddy seedlings would be provided to the farmers to help them in taking all possible steps in their agricultural activities.

The agriculture department sowed the Beena-11 paddy seeds on a plot of two acres at Ganapati under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikash Yojna. ADO Barnali Medhi, Rani AP president Parameswar Barman, Kahikuchi GP president,  Jagannath Thakuria, and AGP leaders Subhas Sarma, Paresh Barua, Rabin Daimary among others were all present at the time of the inauguration ceremony.

Kalita also distributed free looms sponsored by the State handloom and textiles department, to 36 poor weavers of five villages of Rani helping them to grow in agricultural sectors.
