Several iconic projects for the development of Nagaland got final nod from DPDB Dimapur

Dimapur: According to a DIPR report, the monthly Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of September was held under the chairmanship of advisor, sericulture, excise, and minority affairs and chairman DPDB Dimapur, Zhaleo Rio, in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur.

During the meeting, DPDB Dimapur approved finalization of LADP (2021-22) along with schemes for “iconic projects” under LADP including the construction of Rongmei council customary court at Chungaizaeng Colony, Burma camp under 1-Dimapur I A/C; construction of link road, Signal Angami to Kevijau measuring 700 meters under 2 Dimapur II A/C; construction of Urra area village union office building at Urra village under 3 Dimapur III A/C; construction of Rostrum cum open Gallery at Khaghaboto Town under 4 Ghaspani-1 A/C and construction of an indoor stadium at Medziphema village under 5 Ghaspani-II A/C.

Zhaleo pointed out that in every aspect, Dimapur DTF was doing remarkably well and impressed upon the departments to continue rendering their services so that the apprehension of the third wave could be mitigated with collective effort. He further stressed giving more focus to the pandemic situation, the revival of the economy, and outreach in the uncovered areas.

On implementation of the prepaid metering system, Electrical division Dimapur, EE informed the house that as per the directive from higher authority and ministry of power, the department would start implementing the prepaid metering system in all the offices, towers, and quarters. And once the prepaid metering system was introduced, citizens of Nagaland would use power judiciously. He said that this would assure power stability in the long run also noting the prepaid metering system was a good step but reminded the department to ensure accurate billing.

In this regard, the commissioner of police Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo assured full cooperation in terms of manpower to the department and suggested for underground wiring system or using sealed wires to avoid power theft.

Members also shared their views on practical problems for monthly payments of bills as the government released payments only once a year for rent and rates taxes.

The members suggested the department come out with a policy for managing the bills, particularly for government offices.

The meeting also reviewed last meeting minutes, approval for opening and up-gradation of schools, change of nomenclature of excel children school to Dzuvian school, recommendation of Grant in Aid to Charisma school, circuit house colony, Dimapur, St John Higher Secondary Residential School Diphu Road, Indisen Village, St. Tetesa’s Little Kingdom, Fellowship Colony Dimapur. Meanwhile, the agriculture department presented the departmental activities with a PowerPoint presentation along with the Department of fisheries in the next DPDB meeting.
