Sikkim Supreme, the brand of the Government of Fruit Preservation Factory, launched a unique range of sugar-free energy drinks on Saturday, on the occasion of Vishwakarma Puja. GFPF hopes to sell the wellness drinks across India and also in Nepal and Bhutan.

Managing Director of GFPF, Pawan Awasthi informed that the factory is working on producing more wellness products and will come out with micro-nutrients that contain vitamin water within the next six months. “Our focus and priority will be towards health-related products. And these products help augment wellness, said Awasthy.,” he said.

The sugar-free drink has been launched in collaboration with a Bangaluru-based health-based company called Joules Health Enterprise. Priced at Rs. 20 per 300 ml bottle, the energy drinks are available in five exotic flavours- black bolt, red rush, citrus twist, peachylicious, and bubblegum.

Pawan Awasthi claimed that these ready-to-serve energy drinks would improve the condition of the organization which has been in operation since 1956.

Optimistic about its approach, the GFPF MD informed that the new energy drinks, enriched with essential drinks will be retailed across the country. GFPF has a target to market this product outside India as well, in the countries like Bhutan and Nepal.

The MD attributed this success to the Government of Sikkim for their recent development. He also thanked the GFPF employees for whose support the state-owned fruit preservation factory was able to bring quality products.

Sikkim Supreme plans to launch 3-4 exclusive products by the end of this financial year.

The Government Fruit Preservation Factory (GFPF) was set up by the Chogyal of Sikkim to preserve oranges. The factory is the pioneering food processing industry of Sikkim. Progressively GFPF diversified into the processing of various fruits, vegetables, and allied food products.
