With the distribution of this payment, the total amount of PDRD distributed to qualifying states in the current fiscal year has reached Rs 59,226 crore. The Union government has disbursed Rs 9,871 crore to 17 states as the sixth monthly payment of the post-tax devolution revenue deficit (PDRD) grant.

Kerala (Rs 1,658 crore), West Bengal (Rs 1,467 crore), and Andhra Pradesh (Rs 1,438 crore) are the top three beneficiary states in the current tranche.

Article 275 of the Constitution provides the states with the PDRD.
