Toy Train Services soon be started by NFR in Tawang

Itanagar: NFR to start its toy train service in Tawang soon after the Arunachal Pradesh Government's nod of approval.

A proposal was presented by NFR General Manager Anshul Gupta to the Arunachal Chief Minister on Thursday, 12 August 2021.

Gupta informed that the NFR will start with the work as soon as the approval comes from the state government.

The project visualizes a tourist-centric toy train with three bogies and 12 passenger capacity services in and around Tawang township consisting of the park with varied facilities like food centers, craft bazaar, etc.

Pema khandu the CM of Arunachal Pradesh has accepted the proposal and asked the NFR to coordinate with the Tawang District Administration for logistic support and assured the government's support.

A team of NFR officials and engineers will visit Tawang next week for the joint survey and project finalization along with the district administration.

And once everything is finalized, NFR can start with the projects and needs to complete them within 6 months.

Already, NFR is in the process of constructing a broad gauge railway line from Bhalukpong in the foothills to Tawang, covering a distance of 378 km, 10,000 feet high from which 80 percent will pass through the tunnels.
