Agartala: Former Tripura Finance Minister of Tripura Jishnu Dev Varma said that the Interim Budget 2024 lays a strong foundation for building a prosperous and inclusive India, in line with the vision of 'Viksit Bharat’

“Empowerment for every section of society, particularly the 'Garib', 'Mahilayen', 'Yuva', and 'Annadata' is echoed in this budget. Their progress is linked  with the nation's advancement. The recently released World Economic Outlook report of the IMF, calls India a bright spot and has increased our growth estimates. The Budget speech reaffirms and consolidates this growth trajectory. It’s “ sarvasparshi” - touching all sections of society especially women, youth and the poor”.

Sujit Roy, the Secretary of the All Tripura Merchants Association, expressed satisfaction after analyzing the budget. He mentioned that while the overall budget was good, he noted that the income tax remains unchanged. Roy also expressed appreciation for the introduction of new schemes aimed at benefiting women.

"Loans for women and core training for skilled workers are indeed commendable steps. We are very pleased with the budget and would like to extend our thanks to the Union Finance Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he said.
