Tripura Tourism aims to attract more tourists by going online

In order to attract more tourists, Tripura Tourism minister Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated the newly developed online booking portal of Tripura Tourism at the premises of Geetanjali Tourism Guest House on August 10.

The online booking system has been newly designed with a cost of Rs 4 lakh. The designing of the website has been done in a completely new way in order to attract the tourist footfalls in Tripura and easy access of people to book hotels.

It is to be noted that it has also taken initiative to develop a mobile application for booking and revamping of State Tourism website. Besides, it has also sent a proposal to Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for an amount of Rs. 50.00 lakhs in IT Infrastructure Development in Tourism sector and it is at the final stage of sanction.

As informed by the MD, Tripura Tourism is in search of digital marketing through Social Media. The MD also announced it stands 1st in Instagram, 3rd in Facebook and 3rd in Twitter among the North Eastern states of India. He also gladly announced that they have on boarded 09 fairs & festivals and 01 live darshan (Mata Tripura sundari Temple puja) for online viewing for outside Tourists through UTSAV portal which is under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
During a press communication the TTDCL said, "Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Ltd had started online booking of Tourist Lodges / Yatri Niwas/ Pantha Niwas in the financial year of 2010-11. The software was developed by National Informatics Centre, State Agartala Unit. Now to cater to tourists needs, it was necessary to make a user friendly, innovative, attractive and eye-catching booking page for the visitors. The Initiative of the re-development of this booking portal was taken around 04 (four) months back and now it is ready for inauguration. This newly developed online booking page will help the visiting tourists in booking particular tourist lodges under TTDCL from their mobile phone or through computer."
