US & Canadian business leaders to invest in India

New Delhi: Several US and Canadian multinational companies will invest in various sectors, like energy, agriculture, infrastructural development, horticulture and natural resources sector in India, potentially worth thousands of crores, to generate economic activities and create new job opportunities.

The move came amid Prime Minister Narender Modi’s interaction with Indian-origin US multibillionaire Darshan Singh Dhaliwal during a state dinner hosted in the honour of Modi at the White House.

US tycoons Dhaliwal was on the illustrious guest list among the attendees, which included Indian tycoons Mukesh Ambani and Anand Mahindra, Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, top Indian-origin entrepreneurs, and business leaders such as Alphabet.Inc CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft CEO and Chairman Satya Nadella, and former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi. Apple boss Tim Cook was also among the attendees.

Dhaliwal, who was awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman by President Draupadi Murmu in Indore this year, told Modi to play an active role in attracting investment in India.

He said that a delegation of top business leaders will visit New Delhi during July 2023 to discuss investment proposals with the Government of India and respective state governments to expedite the process in time bound manner to transform Indian villages into the most prosperous.

Dhaliwal said that the Sikh Community across the globe has high hopes on Prime Minister since he has always walked the extra mile to accommodate the Sikh masses’ demands.
