Imphal: A US-based corporation would invest USD 500 million in the state's tourist industry with several other foreign investments on the cards, announced Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.

The state would be getting a 500 million dollar investment in the tourist industry from a corporation located in the US, the chief minister announced during a tour organised for the visiting B20 delegates.

Singh said that Manipur will see progress in all sectors based on the desire of several other international businessmen, mainly from Argentina, Peru, and Bangladesh, to invest in the state during Friday's B20 summit.

Delegates from 23 countries, including 26 international business delegations and 24 diplomats, experienced notable cultural heritages, gastronomy, and art during the B20 conference in Imphal, the first of the four B20 sessions scheduled in Northeast India. The B20 meeting serves as the official G20 venue for business community engagement.

The 120-foot-tall polo statue was built at Marjing Hill in Imphal East, and the delegates were given a tour of the site. They next went to Sangai Ethnic Park and the Indian National Army Headquarters in Moirang.

Australia, Argentina, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Chad, Canada, China, France, Greece, Iceland, Japan, Nepal, Russia, Seychelles, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Tunisia, Uganda, United States, and United Kingdom were among the 23 nations that took part in the B20 summit on Friday.
