The Indian equities market continued its gaining rally during the week despite some pressure of selling by the investors.

In all five trading sessions, the markets closed in the positive zone.

In the week ahead, the Indian markets will react to the US inflation data which will dominate the global markets.

If the numbers are worse than expected, we could see volatility in the global markets which in turn could impact the domestic markets.

The sour relations between US and China over the Taiwan issue have also caused worries for investors after the market negated the negative impact of the Ukraine-Russia conflict,

The progress in both geo-political crises will be a big trigger for the Indian market.

Meanwhile buying by foreign institutional investors (FII) will also dictate the market direction.

The Foreign Institutional Investors have surprisingly turned buyers in August, and many expect the FII sell-off to end and buying to start coming into the markets. Of course, FII buying will depend on US inflation and other global data, but the buying patterns of FIIs will be the most important to watch.

There will be also much stock-specific activity in the coming week as companies release their first quarterly results ending June 2022.
