Guwahati: The start-up bootcamp held in Raddisson Blue Hotel in Guwahati by Software Technology Park of India witnessed an passionate audience, with 55 promising startups physically contributing in the event.
Organized as part of the 6th Open Challenge Program, the bootcamp marks the formal onboarding of these startups into the incubation program.
“We weren’t expecting this kind of response. It’s growing fantastically,” said Vandana Srivastava, Jurisdictional Director of Software Technology Park of India, Guwahati.
“These 55 startups are now formally inducted, and today’s camp is helping them connect, understand the program structure, and engage with each other from the very beginning” said Srivastava.
The day-long event included meetings by mentors and industry experts aimed at inspiring participants and providing precision on the roadmap ahead. “Since most of our operations are conducted online, starting off with a physical gathering helps create a shared understanding and builds camaraderie among participants,” she added.
The startups are at variable stages of development from idea verification to prototyping and market launch. Based on their individual stages, the program will provide custom-made backing and mentorship support.

The assortment of startups was accepted out through a hard process under the Open Challenge format.
After getting a pool of applications, a full screening and pitching round was led before a panel of domain experts.
Successful candidates then completed the onboarding process by agreeing to the program’s terms and conditions.
Looking ahead, the cohort will also embark on a field visit to local agribusinesses in Assam. This initiative is envisioned to help them gain first-hand visions into local operations, understand ground-level tests, and explore potential interactions for innovation.
With this kick-off, the incubation program aims to support and accelerate the growth of these start-ups in alignment with regional priorities and sectoral needs.
