Guwahati: Without a doubt, studying in an IIT or IIM is the most cherished dream of Indian students. This is evidenced by the fact that over 11 lakh candidates registered for both JEE Main sessions last year seeking entry into the IITs. Similarly, over 2 lakh candidates appeared for the CAT 2023 examination. However, very few of them made the cut.

To meet the ever-increasing demand for quality education, the IITs and IIMs have expanded their horizons to accommodate working executives as well. Their motive is to bring out the best in those willing to learn that will help them forge ahead in their careers.

These Executive MBA courses are offered by several IIMs. To apply for these, you need to have 5 years of working experience. IIM Jammu, IIM Nagpur, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Bodhgaya and IIM Jammu are among the few IIMs that are yet to launch such programmes.

Executive MBA programmes are now also being offered by IITs like IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Patna, IIT Roorkee, and IIT Madras. Additionally, the IITs are also offering Executive MTechs to enroll personnel for upskilling themselves.

These special M Tech programmes are typically designed for mid-career professionals who wish to acquire advanced skills and knowledge in their field. If the program aligns with your career goals, it can help you progress in your current job or open up new opportunities.

Salary after an Executive MBA in India depends on the years of experience one has in their chosen field, with a sum ranging between Rs 12 lakh-40 lakh per annum being the norm. These programmes will set you back by around Rs 30,000-2 lakh.

In the Northeast, MBA WE offered by the IIM in Shillong is designed for professionals who aspire to greater roles in their organisations. This general management program is beneficial to professionals in business and industry, not-for-profit organizations, government and policy, research, and academics.

Students who completed this MBA say that the main motive for pursuing it was to change their thought processes and improve their understanding of business. Some attest that this MBA has created some of the management professionals in the country.
